The Dorset Apprenticeship Awards 2025, organised by Dorset Chamber and DSTPN are being presented by Sonnaz Nooranvary. The awards recognized outstanding apprentices in five categories: Supported Intern, Intermediate, Advanced, Higher Level, and Degree Level.

Marking a decade of safeguarding the UK’s most at-risk craft traditions, Sonnaz will be speaking at the 2025 Red List of Endangered Crafts debuts during London Craft Week, spotlighting the urgent need to protect heritage craft skills in an era of rapid change.

Join us at Walford Mill, Wimborne for an inspiring evening as part of the Meet the Maker programme, where Sonnaz will share her story, insight and experiences with the title: "My work, business and the importance of creativity".

The Cheshire College South & West Apprenticeship Awards 2025 shines a light on the importance of apprenticeships in building a skilled and resilient workforce, reinforcing Cheshire College’s commitment to training and development for both apprentices and employers. The evening will be introduced with key note speech by Sonnaz, who will also present all awards to recipients.

Sonnaz will be a panelist speaker for the launch of Sammy’s Foundation - a dedicated to teaching skilled, technical crafts to driven young adults with complex neurological conditions, giving them valuable careers and providing the interior design sector and related markets with a wider choice of artisanal craft products and specialist bespoke craft services.

Sonnaz has teamed up with charity Heritage Crafts to create a new Young Upholsterer of the Year Award, with a £1,000 prize, open to anyone up to the age of 25. The award celebrates a young heritage craftsperson aged 25 or under who has made an outstanding start to their career, with the awards ceremony held at Eltham Palace, London.

Sonnaz shares her journey from an apprentice to becoming a renowned expert in upholstery & restoration. The Young Furniture Makers exhibition and Young Furniture Makers Awards will take place at Furniture Makers' Hall and the Dutch Church in London, with the Textile Awards sponsored, judged and presented by Sonnaz.

Wimborne Minster Flower Festival is to be opened at 11am on Friday 2 September by Sonnaz Nooranvary, who is the resident upholstery expert on BBC One’s ‘The Repair Shop’. The festival, the first in the town for seven years, runs from Friday 2 to Monday 5 September.
